Obituary: | Ester Mae Hudson-Fairchild was the youngest and only daughter of the late Vernia and Virginia Hudson, born on August 22, 1949. She accepted CHRIST at a young age and was a devout Woman of GOD. Ester loved the LORD and was faithful in her ministry of visiting the sick and always having a word of encouragement for all she encountered. Ester was a 1967 graduate of Fairview High School. She was a cheerleader for the Fairview Cardinals and she met her forever love, Kenneth Fairchild, a football player for the rival team, the Camden Panthers in 1966. They united in holy matrimony on May 9, 1970 and to this union two children were born, the jewels on her crown of grace, J. Keith Fairchild and Kelly A. Fairchild. Ester was a devoted employee of River Valley Community Federal Credit Union in Camden for 41 years. She mothered all the employees and was loved and treasured by her co-workers as well as the members. She was an intricate vein in the history of River Valley Community FCU and was able to call out the history with ease. Ester is a member of Oasis Church formerly known as Immanuel Baptist Church in Camden. Ester was a Sunday School teacher for many years and took pride in ministering to the ‘elders.’ She loved her class and took great joy when speaking of ‘her little ladies.’ Ester finished her race on this side of glory on March 24, 2025, and has transitioned to her heavenly home to be with her LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. Ester loved the LORD with her entire heart and was intentional in living for CHRIST every day. Ester was honored with love, honor and the utmost respect of Kelly, Britt, Kynlee, Cole and River and was surrounded by their care along with her special friend, Judy Foster as she took flight on angel’s wings. Ester was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Thomas Hudson, her son, J. Keith Fairchild, and her ‘forever love’ Ken. Ester leaves the essence of her love with her beloved daughter, Kelly (Britt) Carman of Camden, AR; one sister-in-law, Becki Byrd; grandchildren, Robert Cole Fairchild of Tulsa, OK and Kynlee Ann Carman of Camden, AR; one great grandson, River A. Fairchild of Tulsa, OK, and her beloved family pet, Buster, as well as a host of family and friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR. Ester’s homegoing celebration will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Oasis Church at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Rosston, AR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oasis Church in Camden, AR. |
