Obituary: | It is with broken hearts her family shares, that our mom, sister, Nana and friend left us on August 25, 2024. Born to Marchie Dickinson Hutcheson and Richard Branford Hutcheson on September 11, 1951, in Camden, AR. Lenora graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, AR in 1969. She continued her education at Southern State College (SAU) in Magnolia, and University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway, AR. Lenora graduated in 1976 from U.C.A. with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was an R.N.-B.S.N. Lenora was a devoted Registered Nurse. Her nursing career carried her down many paths. She met each career challenge, with knowledge, courage, and a “Let’s Do It!” mindset. She began her nursing at St. Vincent’s in Little Rock working in Oncology as Head Nurse for several years. Lenora and her husband then made the journey to Syracuse University, in New York, to continue their education. While at Syracuse, Lenora worked in Surgical and Oncology at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. Upon returning home to Arkansas she continued her nursing path at Doctor’s Hospital, and then to St. Jude’s in Memphis, TN. Desiring a change from being a floor nurse, she became a Medical and Procedural Auditor at U.A.M.S., also as Instructor for nursing students. Lenora finished her nursing career working for Medicare-Medicaid-D.H.S. She was a Utilization Review Auditor and authored medical and hearing impairment procedures and protocol. Loved and respected by her patients and co-workers, Lenora retired after 48 years in the field of nursing and instruction. She was dedicated to her patients, their care, and their healing process.
