Obituary: Gabby McLaughlin, 18 of Conway, AR, passed away August 4th in Van Buren, AR, just 12 days shy of her 19th birthday. Gabby was born August 16, 2005 to Stephanie and Joseph McLaughlin. She was a 2024 honor graduate of Vilonia High School and earned her associate degree from UALR. Gabby was a remarkable individual—stubborn, independent, intelligent, and with a unique sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. She was a force of nature, a compassionate soul who was unafraid to carve her own path. Driven by her passion for mechanics, she dreamed of serving as an airplane mechanic in the Air Force. Her determination and strong will made every goal within reach. She is survived by her mother, Stephanie McLaughlin, and sister, Allie McLaughlin, of Texarkana; grandfathers, Holbert Walton of Fouke, AR, and Chris Carlisle of Hope, AR; uncle, Keith McLaughlin of Hope, AR; aunts, Amanda Burnett and Melinda Loomis of Texarkana, Danielle (Joe) Woodard of Hartford, AR; and many loving cousins. She also leaves behind her loving boyfriend of 2 1/2 years, Shiloh Antee. Gabby was preceded in death by her father, Joseph McLaughlin; her maternal grandmother, Cheryl Walton; and her paternal grandmother, Mary Carlisle. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 8, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM at the Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday August 9, 2024, at 2 PM in the Chapel with burial to follow at Bodcaw 1 Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jacob Jones, Tristen Koller, Landon Powell, Chris Richey, Braeden Woodard, and Joe Woodard. The Family will be at 1605 Valley View Circle, Texarkana, AR. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/OAKCREST The Funeral Home of Hope.
