Obituary: | Mr. Kenneth Herring Fairchild was the first born of the late Bob and Drusilla Fairchild in Camden, Arkansas on March 19, 1949. He accepted Christ at the age of 12 in the state of California. Ken was a GOD-fearing man who loved the LORD. Kenneth H. Fairchild was a 1967 graduate of Camden High School where he was an active football player and exceptional member of the track team. He also attended Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University for a time. Ken was sworn in the Marine Corps Reserve in Texarkana, Arkansas by Major Harry F. Barnes in June, 1969 and served 6 years. Ken was a hard-working family man that was dedicated in providing for his family. His work history includes the IPCO – Bag Pack Division, J.W. Fairchild Construction, and began his trucking career with Lucas Trucking and finished his trucking legacy with B & B Gravel Co. of Bearden, Arkansas. Ken was skilled in many areas and found great joy in being outside mowing his yard, operating all heavy equipment and driving gravel trucks and 18-Wheelers. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting and being at the family farm in Rosston, Arkansas. He found great peace at the farm sitting and beholding the beauty of GOD’s creation and the blessings of his family legacy. Ken met the love of his life and the mother of his children, Ester Hudson in 1966. They married on May 9, 1970 and to this blessed union two children were born, his two treasures, J. Keith Fairchild and Kelly A. Fairchild. Ken transitioned to his eternal home on September 29, 2023 supported by his loving and devoted wife, Ester and his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Britt. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, J. Keith Fairchild. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his beloved wife, Ester Hudson Fairchild; his daughter, Kelly (Britt) Carman of Camden, AR; sister, Becki Byrd, and grandchildren, Robert Cole Fairchild and Kynlee Ann Carman, one great grandson, River A. Fairchild, his vigilant companion, Buster and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR. Burial will be after service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Rosston, AR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oasis Church in Camden, AR or to The CARTI Foundation. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements |
