Obituary: | Rocky Dwaine Cummings, age 72, entered Heaven’s Gates on March 3rd at UAMS in Little Rock with his loving wife by his side. Rocky was born April 26, 1950, to Bobbie Clements Cummings and Ben Cummings in Canyon, TX. He was proceeded in death by his son Rusty Cummings and his father Ben Cummings. Left behind to cherish his wisdom and precious memories are his wife Paula of 50 years, daughter Amanda Reeves and son Chris Reeves of Denton, TX, daughter Amy Leigh Overton of Texarkana, AR, granddaughter Rusti Beathard (Cody) of Dover, DE, grandsons Josh Reeves, Taylor McCoy, and Will McCoy. Great grandchildren Ryder Beathard and Avery Beathard and his special companion Reba Grace. His mother Bobbie Cummings of Hope, AR, and sister Linda Speer (Ronnie) of Cookville, TN. Nephews Mike Speer, Chad Poindexter, Andrew Poindexter, and niece Jennifer Speer. Rocky was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Bodcaw #1. He was loved by many especially his church family and his lake family. He was known by many names: Baby by Paula, Daddy by the girls, PawPaw to his grands and great-grands, Pops, Poppa Rock, Mr. Rocky, and Brother Rocky. Rocky loved his church and church family and was an inspiration to many. During the years he was supposed to retire he and Paula made the decision to buy a fish camp at Lake Erling. There they made many new friends and friends that were like family. He had a servant’s heart and was happy to be blessed to be able to help others. When he took his last breath and opened his eyes in Heaven God most assuredly said “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Visitation will be held Monday March 6, 2023 at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 7, 2023 at 2:00PM at Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Lane Garner, Bro. Danny Everette, and Bro. Tim Vines officiating. Burial will follow at Bodcaw #1 Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Clements, Chris Tucker, John Ed Dorman, Mikey Whitehead, Kyle Beebe, and Jerry Pickett |
