| Obituary: | To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven. This is the story of Floyd Junius Gulley; a son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend whom God in his infinite wisdom called home September 8, 2022. Floyd J. Gulley was born October 2, 1956 in Bluff City, Arkansas. He was the second of four children born to Willie and Murlean Gulley. Floyd accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Bluff City, Arkansas. Floyd was a 1975 graduate of Prescott High School. While in high school he served as the manager for the high school football and track team. Floyd’s love for history, geography, civics and Perry Mason influenced his decision to pursue a career with the FBI. Shortly after high school, he joined the FBI Training Academy in Washington, D. C. Where he completed a course in forensic science and later became a skilled expert fingerprint examiner. After working in DC for twelve years, he transferred to the Shelby County Bureau in Memphis, Tennessee, where he worked for 1 year before resigning and moving to Little Rock, Arkansas. While there, He later earned a certificate as a paralegal. Eventually, Floyd moved to Prescott to be closer to family. He is preceded in death by his father, Willie Anthony Gulley, Sr., and a daughter in love, Sabrina Stevens. His family who dearly loved him will sadly miss him. Left to cherish his memory on this earth is his loving mother Murlean Gulley Brooks (Prescott), two brothers Willie Anthony Gulley, Jr. and Randolph (Roberta) Gulley (Prescott), two sisters, Darlene (Kenneth) Wiley (Prescott), and Jessica (Steve) Dixon (Montgomery, AL), several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Submitted by the Gulley Family. Services will be at The SPOT in Prescott on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe F. King, eulogist. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Bluff City, Arkansas. |
