Obituary: | William Arthur Russell, 87, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away on August 27, 2022. He was born July 18, 1935, in Clarksville, Texas to Clifford Russell, Sr. and Mary (Brown) Russell. Bill enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Brenda. Throughout the sixty years of their marriage, they rarely spent a day or night apart. As a couple, they ran the Otasco Store on the Stamps triangle for decades and later a successful photography studio. He was often endearingly referred to as “Mr. Otasco.” Bill, too, was passionate about photography. For many years, he was a freelance photographer for the paper and later spent years at his studio capturing family portraits, weddings and other special moments. Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stamps and cared for the church grounds faithfully. Bill also loved sailing on “The Falcon”, his beloved C-Dory boat. He enjoyed writing stories about his adventures and often bragged about being a published writer in “Heartland Boating”. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, John Ambrose Russell; brother, Clifford Russell, Sr.; and twin brother, Edward Russell. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Russell; two sons, William A. Russell, Jr and wife, Celin Russell of Walkersville, NC and Robert A. Russell and wife, Ginger of Magnolia, AR; three grandsons, Jackson Drew Russell and wife, Amber and daughter, Ava Kate of Magnolia, AR, Garrett Kyle Russell and wife, Cassidy and their children, Easton and Hadley of Magnolia, AR, and Aaron Blake Russell and wife, Madison of Conway, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2:00P.M. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Aaron Russell and Bro. Drew Russell officiating under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Falcon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Stamps or Falcon Cemetery. |
