Obituary: | Robert Anthony “Tony” Russell, age 66 of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Texarkana, TX. Tony was born to Robert Samuel and Regina Maria Merkle Russell on February 26, 1953 in Gurdon, Arkansas. He was a semi-truck driver for several local companies for many years. He also taught truck driving at UACCH. He was employed as a heavy forklift driver at Anthony Timberlands and Potlatch Corporation. After Potlatch closed in 2008, he went to work at Firestone Building Products as a shipping clerk and forklift driver for 10 ½ years until he retired at the end of May 2019. Tony loved nothing better in life than being a husband, father, and papa to his grandson Ethan. He was the best provider a man could be and will be greatly missed by so many! He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters, and two nephews, Dwight and Darrell Russell. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary E. Russell of Prescott, AR, his daughter, Leslie Maria Davis and Jason of Prescott, AR, his son, Jacob Tyler Russell of Prescott, AR, his grandson, Ethan Cole Davis of Prescott, AR, two brothers, one sister, many nephews, nieces, and a lot of great friends. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at BRAZZEL/Cornish 1196 HWY 371 West Prescott, Arkansas 71857. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
