Obituary: Jackie Cooley, 60, of Bodcaw, AR passed away September 15, 2021, at White Oak Lake. He was born July 31, 1961, in Hope, AR to LeRoy Cooley and Patricia Olney Johnson. Jackie was employed as a Walmart Department Manager and owned his own lawn mowing business. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and hard worker. He was a member of Bodcaw Baptist Church. Jackie enjoyed spending time with his family and being Pops to Emma and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Cooley and Patricia Olney Johnson, grandparents, Earl and Lula Bell Cooley, and Franklin and Ruth Rucker Olney. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Amanda Cooley of Bodcaw, AR; son Dustin Cooley and wife Chelsea of Spring Hill, AR; brother James Cooley and wife Cheryl of Stonewall, LA; sisters Cathy Sanders and John Walton of Hope, AR and Tessie Formby of Taylor, AR; two granddaughters Emma and Elizabeth Cooley of Spring Hill, AR; father-in-law and mother-in-law Clifton and Naomi Butler of Bodcaw, AR; brother-in-law Mark Butler of Bodcaw, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of loyal hunting buddies. Visitation will be held 1:00 pm Friday, September 17, 2021, at Union Cemetery in Bodcaw. Funeral services will follow with Bro. Joe Brown, Bro. Casey Curtis and Bro. Ed Phillips officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in honor of Emma Cooley at Stjude.org.
