Obituary: | James Varl May, 78, of Bodcaw passed from this life on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. James was born in Bodcaw, Arkansas on January 4, 1943 to Varl and Myrtle Atkinson May. He was a member of Bodcaw Baptist Church. James served in the United States Air Force. He was a supervisor at TexArk Joist and Firestone, a retired auto mechanic, and current employee for the City of Bodcaw Water System. James was preceded in death by his parents, Varl and Myrtle May, Mattie Atkinson, and his grandson, James Matthew Langston. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Thompson May. His daughters include Kerrie May, Mariann May Faulkner and Jacque, Loretta Baker and Scott. Grandchildren and great grandchildren include Wade Varl May, Lane Faulkner, Brittany Hartness and Evan, Tiffany Baker and Aiden Hartness. Graveside service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Union Cemetery in Bodcaw with Bro. Ed Phillips and Bro. Jerry Evans officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Hope. |
