Obituary: With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lenore B. Shirey on June 29, 2024, at the age 87, in the embrace of her home and surrounded by her beloved family. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, July 03, 2024 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice with Brother Tommy McManus, officiating. . Lenore, affectionately known by various endearing names throughout her life, Pudden, Momma Pudden, My Pudnah, Pippy and now it’s Pip. She was born on November 28, 1936, to the late James Lewis Benton and Myrtie Margaret Purifoy Benton. Her journey in this world was marked by her dedication to family and work. Her roles at Kassie's Kiddie Korner, Dimensions and Dee's Tot & Teen showcased her nurturing spirit and commitment. Beyond her professional pursuits, Lenore found immense joy in spending quality time with her loved ones, camping amidst nature's beauty, and indulging in creative endeavors such as crafting, floral arrangements, decorating, and uplifting voices in choir harmonies. Lenore’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially, by her devoted husband of sixty- eight years, Jim Shirey of Eunice. She leaves behind a cherished legacy as a loving mother to Lori Shirey Carrier and husband, Darryl of Eunice, James “Wayland” Shirey, JR and wife, Shawn of Durant, Ok, Benton Drew Shirey and wife, Nancy of Lexington, KY and Shelli Shirey Diaville and husband, Greg of Elkins, AR; along with fifteen grandchildren, Heather Carrier, Heath Carrier, Jamie Shirey, Adam Shirey, Barrett Shirey, Matthew Shirey, Tim Shirey, Krista Fogg, Kara Shirey, Daniel Shirey, Chloe Shirey, Ashley Diaville, Buddy Diaville, Shelby Diaville and Kyleigh Diaville; twenty-four great grandchildren who held a special place in her heart; as well as extended family and many dear friends. Lenore now joins her parents Jim and Myrtie Benton along with five brothers and two sisters who have gone before her. While our hearts grieve this loss, may we find solace in the cherished memories she leaves behind. At the request of the family, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 4th at the Bluff City Cemetery in Bluff City, Arkansas.
