| Obituary: | Donald L. “Buddy” Beard, 85, died January 30, 2020 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born December 4, 1934 in Bearden, AR to Cleo and Nellie Frazier Beard. Buddy was a longtime member of the Stephens Church of Christ and was retired from the Arkansas Department of Transportation. Buddy enjoyed football and was a big fan of the Bearden Bears. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon Ruth Beard; a brother, Dan Beard and a sister, Cleatie Williams. He is survived by a sister, Patricia Pennington and her husband, Marvin of Bearden, AR as well as many nieces and nephews. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Stephens Church of Christ. Services will be at 2:00 at Stephens Church of Christ with Mark Mosher officiating followed by interment at Liberty Cemetery near Troy, AR |
