| Obituary: | Floye Ann Shackelford, 85, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mrs. Shackelford was born May 12, 1931 in Sterlington, Louisiana. She was a homemaker, a member of the Straight Cutter’s Sunday School class of First Baptist Church, Texarkana and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Shackelford; one daughter, Paula Shackelford Akers; and one sister, Sarah Hall. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Mauvelyn Shackelford of Garland, Texas; one son-in-law, Otto Akers of Houston, Texas; one brother, W.M. “Mack” Thompson, Jr. of Bryant, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Stephanie Dawsey and Adrianna Osburn; four great-grandchildren, Gabriel Degner, Allora Dawsey, Kaleb Sanders and Tristan Osburn; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church Atrium with Rev. Larry Sims officiating.
