Obituary: | Steve Lynn White was born October 29, 1953 to Richard Charles and Julia Wanetta (Cross) White at their family homestead in Laneburg, Arkansas. During his childhood, they lived in areas including Redwater, Texas and Camden, Arkansas before moving back home. Steve graduated from Laneburg High School in 1973, where he was known by his peers as “Clean” due to the fact that he was the only kids to chance wearing a white shirt and shorts to gym class. Steve drove a company truck for Myer’s Bakeries in Hope, Arkansas for many years and made numerous friends at the company, both in the bakery and the truck shop. It was in the office that he met a women named Sherry Ann Hollis from Patmos, Arkansas. He proposed on their second date and they were married on February 19, 1983. In 1997, they decided to venture out and invest in their first big truck and started S&S Trucking. They were happily married for 30 years and raised two children together, until Sherry passed away in 2012. Two years before his health declined, he parked his truck and began hauling logs locally for Tommy Adair and was happy that he was finally at home every night. He shifted gears in his sleep at times and could tell you any exit number and safe places to stop when traveling. In 2016, on Easter weekend, Steve found love again when he met Sandra Anderson Shope and they were married on May 16, 2020. For the first time, the country boy moved to the big city of Prescott. While his health had already declined, he was happy and lived the last of his years in good spirits. He had an infectious smile. He loved sitting in his recliner watching tv shows, cracking jokes, and being entertained by his grandkids during visits. Steve was firm in his faith in Our Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member of Morris Baptist Church in Cale, Arkansas for most of his life. While his family knows that it is normal to hear “sorry for your loss,” they can find peace in knowing that although he is gone from this life, he is not lost, because he is now living a glad reunion with many family members who have gone before hum in his ETERNAL home with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry in 2012; his father and mother in 2016; and Stepson, Rusty Shope in 2019. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two children, Ricky Lynn White (Cassy) of Texarkana, Texas and Rebecca Lynne Cleveland (Clancey) of Laneburg, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Brennan, Paden, Cohen, Logan, and Maci; special friends/family: Paul and Sherri McClure, Bill Cross, and many others. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Prescott, Arkansas. Funeral services will held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Dillard officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. |
