Obituary: | hyllis Maxine Smith Lewis, 81, of Hooks, TX passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Hooks. She was born October 26, 1939, in Emmet, AR to Arlis and Ruth Pauline Sherman Smith. Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church, Hooks, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a daughter Wanda Ortiz, granddaughter Jodie Butler, and one great grandson Isaiah Wagstaff. Survivors include her husband George Lewis of Hooks, TX; three sons Jim Darden (Julie) of Hooks, TX, Tim Darden of Hooks, TX, and Jimmy Michael Lewis (Sarah) of Maud, TX; brother-in-law Joe Lewis; sister-in-law Martha Hall; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; family friend Peggy Pilgrim. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am Saturday October 9, 2021 in Snell Cemetery, Emmet, AR under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. |
