| Obituary: | Betty was born December 12, 1939, in Nashville, AR to Gillie Stuart and Nannie Mae Chism Stuart. She was a homemaker and of Christian faith. Mamaw Red was a natural born caregiver, mom or Mamaw to everyone who came to her. She never denied help or love to anyone. A special thanks from the family to Dr. Crump, Hospice-Gentiva, and her friend Sherry Cross. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years Powell “Red” Cross, daughter Sharon O’Neal, brother Jimmy Stuart, sister Gloria Hastings, a great grandson Dru Albertson. Survivors include sons, Michael Cross (Suzanne) of Prescott and William Cross of Hope; daughters, Kathy Dillard (Rickey) of Rosston, Ruthie Almond of Prescott, Daphine Cross of Prescott, and April Cross of Prescott; 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, 1:00pm at New Salem Church in Laneburg. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm with Bro. Michael Cross officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott. |
