I recently heard a story about a Nevada County Sheriff that was arrested around 1920 for domestic battery. He was held at the Hempstead County Jail for trial. He was found dead in his cell, he apparently had hung himself. I need to verify facts. Does anyone know names and dates concerning this incident?
