Obituary: Rodney Darwin Cherry 51; of Magnolia was born on October 18, 1966 in Lewisville, AR to Jack and Shirley Barbaree Cherry. He grew up in Bodcaw, AR, and lived in Magnolia, AR for the last 25 years until his death. Rodney was a licensed home inspector and owner of ArkLaTex Home Inspections for the last 15 years. He was proud to be a reserve officer of the Magnolia Police Department for the last several years. He loved fishing, hunting, and most of all his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father; Jack R. Cherry, brother Jack Cherry-Mize, and sister Kathy Nolen. He is survived by his mother Shirley Barbaree Cherry of Magnolia, AR, his wife of 33 years Demetris Skelton Cherry, his three children; Heather Cherry Harmon (Josh), of Conway, AR, Justin Cherry (Sylvia) of Magnolia, AR, and Dakota Skelton (Brianna) of Magnolia, AR, four grandsons; Cayden Harmon of Conway, AR, Austin Brown of Magnolia, AR, Brantley Harmon of Conway, AR, and Gunner Cherry of Magnolia, AR. Father in law and mother in law; Leo and Glenda Skelton of Magnolia, AR. Brother Douglas Cherry (Heather) of Texarkana, AR. Sisters; Teresa Cherry Glazer (Bruce) of Westminster, CO, Barbara Cherry (Valton) of Dekalb, TX. Brother in laws; Leon Nolen of Ivanhoe, TX, Brek Skelton(Linda) of Clayton, TX. Sister in law; Susan Mize of Dennison, TX. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, to cherish his memory. Special mention to all children that spent time in the Cherry house hold over the years. Rodney and Demetris had many “children of the heart” that where very much loved. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 21st, at 1:00 p.m. at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, AR. With burial to follow at the Shiloh #2 Cemetery in Falcon, AR. Under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC of Magnolia, AR. Officiating will be Bro. Ron Owens and Bro. Lane Garner.
