Obituary: Paul Edward Martin, 77, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, in his home. Mr. Martin was born September 24, 1941, in Waldo, Arkansas, to Glen Alford Martin and Ruth Ward Martin. He graduated from Barton High School in 1961, and married his wife Lila Burton in 1963. Mr. Martin joined the United States Navy, and served until he retired. He was a member of Eylau Baptist Church, and for a time he preached and served the homeless community of Houston, Texas. Paul was a welding foreman with Brown & Root. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Paul Martin; one grandson, Kevin Andrew Guy; and one nephew, Danny Ray Gotcher. He is survived by his wife, Lila Martin, of 56 years; two sons, Timothy Martin and wife Connie, and Glenn Martin and wife Renee; one daughter Mary Martin King; one brother, John G. Martin; one sister, Judy Ann Martin; eleven grandchildren, Katie Martin, Ronald Paul Martin, Courtney Renee Martin, Chasity Ray, Ashley Johnson, Matt Ausbrooks, Ashlee Lovell and husband Brian, Alyssa Martin, Bobby Martin, Joshua Guy and wife Lauren, and Angie Guy; sixteen great-grandchildren, Aiden, Delilah, Nathan, Karen, Ember, Kayden, Blakeley, Johnathan, Haley, Andrew John, Brooks, Maddox, Blaise, Addison, Seth, Tucker, and two unborn great-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., at Victory Life Church with Rev. Landon Heinen officiating, under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Bodcaw, Arkansas.
