Obituary: Mack Stockton, age 89, passed away February 25, 2022 in Texarkana. He was born December 20, 1932 in Prescott, Arkansas to Dalton McRae Stockton and Vera Mae McWilliams Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dudley Stockton and George Stockton. He attended church at First Baptist Church of Prescott from early childhood, and was a member there for almost eight decades. He faithfully served the Lord as a deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher, church planter, while serving on numerous committees and church projects. He related well to all age groups, from the youngsters attending Bible studies to the elderly to whom he ministered for many years through the Outreach and Nursing Home Ministries. Not only did Mack serve God, he served his country and the community. Stockton was a veteran of the United State Army and the Arkansas National Guard. He was a graduate of Prescott High School and of Southern State (Southern Arkansas University). For a number of years between high school and college Mack worked in several different states in manufacturing, construction, as a pipeliner and in retail sales. After graduating from college he was in management several years for Deltic Farm and Timber with offices in El Dorado and Northeast Louisiana. He then moved back to Nevada County where he worked for over 30 years in the poultry industry in the Hope/Prescott area. During those years he also managed the family farm and the family rental properties. His years of retirement were also fulfilling and rewarding. He was an avid reader, a seasoned traveler and a devoted family man. He looked forward to the next big adventure (especially Canton Trade Days and Yellowstone National Park), making acquaintances and connecting with friends and family. His survivors are his wife of 66 years, Linda Wren Stockton; a son, Micah Wren Stockton (Brenda); a daughter, Jane Wrenette Tedder (Michael); three grandchildren, Ethan Tedder, Camille Tedder, and JD (John Dalton) Stockton; one brother, Larry Stockton (Nancy); a sister-in-law, Ann Stockton; several nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends. The family thanks the residents and staff of Hillcrest for their loving compassionate care. They also thank Kindred Hospice for their support and care. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 pm. Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at Harmony Church in Sutton, Arkansas. The eulogy will be delivered by T. Powers. Officiates are Brother Neal Ridling and Brother David Bowen.
